How it goes.

One globe at a time
Take a globe off the lamp and tile it in your hands, with its own glass and template. Glue the pieces in rows from the top, a hair of space between them, then give it at least 5 hours to set.
Grout it
Push the grout into every gap with the spreader, let it firm up, and sponge it clean. Then the next globe. Each one is up to 3 hours of tiling and a few hours to set: a weekend for three globes, about a week of evenings for seven.
Hang them, switch on
Polish the glass, put each globe back on its arm, top to bottom. Lights off. Switch on.

First the glass: it's what you tile, and each size goes on its own lamps. Then piece by piece, as at the table (or from a design on the template), beads in every gap, grout and light.
