Good to know. Wear the gloves in the box the whole time. Pregnant, or sensitive to smells? Wear a mask as well.

Mix the resin and the hardener until it runs clear, split it into cups of colour and pour it straight onto the timber: deepest colour first, a line of white along the edge for the waves. Then leave it flat for 24 hours to set hard and glossy. What's left in the cups goes on the two coasters.

·A heat gun (or a hair dryer), for the white of the waves

How it goes.

Mix
Resin and hardener in the cup, as the guide measures them for your piece. Stir slowly, scraping the sides, until it runs clear.
Pour & swirl
Split it into cups and stir in the pigments. Pour onto the timber, deepest colour first, a line of white along the edge, then blow the white out with your heat gun (or a hair dryer) for the waves.
24 hours
Leave it flat, somewhere warm (about 25°C) and free of dust, and don't touch it. A day later it's set hard, glossy and ready to use.
